I feel obliged to point out that this blog post is roughly 2 years and 6 months old. People change, opinions evolve. In just a few years, vast technological landscapes can shift. And don't get me started on config files. Please consider this text in the context of its time.
I’m just in the process of cleaning up the blog and updating some static pages. The cleanup was necessary to be able to run the scripts to publish new blog entries without publishing unfinished work. Well — and then you accidentally do the very thing you wanted to prevent. Damned. If you have seen strangely formatted blog entries or articles not ready for publication, this is due to this cleanup. I have some days of vacation in front of me. Perhaps I will move all the half ready blog entries into something worth publishing in the next few weeks to get this from my “unfinished business” list. But the vacation is already full of tasks ranging from garden work to doing taxes.
