ta’ puq mach? Huh? Emperor-child-small? Why do I actually own this book? To be honest, I don’t really know. I like the story. Well … that’s probably a non-statement … I think there are very few readers who don’t like The Little Prince, I mean really don’t like it. Not everyone elevates the story the way some people do, but I don’t know anyone who doesn’t find it at least “pretty okay”. But why do I have the book in both German and Klingon?
So why? Perhaps for when guests come over and their kids get restless. Imagine a colleague drops by with the family in the afternoon, and you have absolutely no toys in the house. In that case I can hand them this book, and hopefully they’ll be busy for a while. Because I really don’t know whether my furnishings would survive contact with bored Klingon children.
I have only read the translation from the Klingon. Not the original.
This is not a review, and I don't hand out stars either. It is part of my annotated reading list. Whatever first comes to mind when I pick up the book. More about it in this blog post.
