Whodunnit - or: Who is behind the EC prolonged investigation

I have several suspects who could be behind the prolonged investigation (“Round up the usual suspects!”). I will not speculate about them here. But i will link to an interesting article, which points to IBM as the responsible company. Maureen O’Gara writes in Oracle-Sun: IBM Reportedly Behind Delay

Well, well, well, a little bird points to IBM as gumming up the works with the European Commission so Oracle and Sun can’t close their deal.

I know it’s problematic to cite Mrs. O’Gara but this rumour doesn’t sound totally unreasonable. At the end: Even without considering this article would put my money on IBM in a bet as well, albeit i would hedge some of the possible losses by betting some money on two other competitors of Oracle. At the end it’s just speculation, because i don’t understand why someone thinks that Oracle RDBMS and Mysql are competitor I’ve worked with mysql Sales guys and even they don’t say that ;) They are complementary: Mysql is the weapon of choice, when oracle is too heavyweight or for Web 2.0 workloads. And Oracle RDBMS is the weapon of choice when you need a full featured high end database. Pretty different markets.
