Forrester about TPC Benchmarks

Forrester Research writes, what Sun said for quite a time now - TPC Benchmarks Don’t Matter Anymore:

Enterprise architects performing assessments should not waste their time on TPC benchmarks of top-tier DBMS products, and tech industry marketers and product managers should redirect the millions they spend on benchmark engineering toward automated tuning and performance optimization.

At last … i wrote it at several occassions in this blog. Especially TPC-C (IBM´s most favourite) isn´t a benchmark, it´s an insult as it´s a function about the number of harddisks. Good to see others thinking the same. PS: I should reuse the Forrester business model for my blog … 749$ for 6 pages … ?!? … cough … wow … well, i would be rich now at 5382 articles ;)
