Letters to your neighbour

Nathan Brookwood of Insight64 describes one of the stranger idiosyncracies of the Core2Duo architecture in one sentence:

"It is as if you wanted to talk to your neighbour in your apartment building, and the only way to do it was to mail them a letter," he said of Intel's architecture.

But when you really think about it, this comparision is a defamation of the postal service. The postal service is a highly efficient routed system for large scale data transport.
