ZFS, iSCSI and the implications

Darren Moffat makes in <a href=”http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/darren?entry=microsoft_iscsi_target_support_versus”</a>his weblog a very intersting objection: Imagine the following scenario. You need a NTFS filesystem with data integrity checks like in ZFS. Impossible? Not really. In OpenSolaris you have the iSCSI target functionality. Sonner or later this will apear in Solaris. Nothing bars you to present your Windows NT initator to use ZFS as the backend filesystem for an Solaris iSCSI target, for example on a X4500 Storage Server. Et voila, you married ZFS and NTFS. And the possibilities are vast and endless.
