VRRP for Opensolaris

A recent code putback remembered me of writing about a small feature that found it’s integration into Opensolaris Build 129. It’s the VRRP service - or in it’s long form: the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol. With this service you can make default route highly available when you using Solaris systems as routers in your network. This is especially interesting in conjunction with the recently introduced load balancing service. More information about this new features are available in the case log as “PSARC/2009/388:VRRP Update” and “PSARC/2008/693: VRRP”. Especially interesting is the proposed man page for vrrpadm in the caselog for 2009/388.
